After what looked like a catch by Jets Receiver Jerricho Cotchery, officials ruled interception when Packers Defender came up with the ball. It appeared that Cotchery was down with possesion of the ball before the packers defender ripped it away. New York tried to challenge but the call on the field was an interception for the packers, and officials said that this type of call cannot be challenged.
As the announcers pointed out, when two players are both fighting for the ball and they go to the ground, a “tie” goes to the receiver. In this case it looked like Cotchery let go of the ball after the whistle was blown, but when a packers player came up with the ball officials ruled it an interception. Not the worst call ever but it was questionable.
